Sheikh Khalifa Fujairah Hospital (SKHF) was established under the initiatives of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the late President of the UAE, and is continuously sponsored by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the current President of the UAE. The aim is to build a robust healthcare infrastructure in the UAE and create a global-standard environment. As part of a broader medical project, SKHF serves as a medical hub for the Northern Emirates, reducing the need for patients to travel to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, or foreign countries for medical care.
SKHF works closely with The Medical Office (TMO) to fulfill the core mission of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan: increasing access to world-class healthcare services, cultivating UAE nationals as future leaders in healthcare, and enhancing the overall community health in the UAE.
Reflecting the leadership’s commitment to providing top-tier healthcare services for the citizens of Fujairah and the Eastern Region, Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Fujairah aims to deliver world-class health services in alignment with the UAE Government Strategy.
The hospital operates 24/7 for inpatient and emergency services. Outpatient services are available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, five days a week. The Accident and Emergency Department has a capacity of 30 beds, expandable to 60 beds. The inpatient wards accommodate 267 beds, with the potential to expand to over 534 beds. The outpatient department features 55 clinics to meet diverse healthcare needs.
SKHF is operated by the Abu Dhabi Healthcare Company (SEHA), the largest and most comprehensive healthcare network in the UAE, established by Emiri Decree No. 10 of 2007. SEHA owns and operates 13 hospitals and 47 clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, providing integrated and outstanding healthcare services that meet the highest international quality and safety standards.

SKHF is a tertiary hospital specializing in specific fields of medicine with centers of excellence in Burns, Rehabilitation, and Trauma. The hospital is designed to provide high-quality service and care efficiently, with state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and design, primarily catering to disaster management.
SKHF has a 267-bed capacity for inpatient care, which can be doubled during disaster management. The hospital includes a dedicated floor for mother and child care, featuring 4 delivery rooms, 2 C-section ORs, 20 postpartum beds, 22 nursery beds, 15 NICU beds, 10 PICU beds, and 44 pediatric beds. The Burns Unit has 10 patient rooms, 5 Burns ICU beds, and a dedicated Burns OR. The VIP ward includes 4 presidential suites and 8 VIP rooms, with medical and surgical wards accommodating 88 patient beds. Additional wards include 15 ICU beds and 10 Cardiac ICU beds.
The Operating Theatre complex features 8 modular operating rooms, 44 beds for pre- and postoperative recovery, and 2 trauma-area operating rooms. One operating room is attached to a CT scan for sophisticated surgeries. The hospital also has 2 Cath labs (one with Biplane and one single), 3 endoscopy suites, 1 bronchoscopy room, and 1 lithotripsy room in the OT complex.
The hospital’s outpatient wing includes 56 physician rooms, 10 procedure/treatment rooms, and a dedicated sample collection area. The Rehabilitation department is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including speech therapy, audiometry, a hydrotherapy pool, 2 hyperbaric chambers, and prosthetics support.
SKHF boasts state-of-the-art diagnostic services, including biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, and histopathology in its laboratory division. The imaging department is equipped with an MRI (1.5 Tesla), CT (64-slice imaging), mammography, Dexa scan, 5 ultrasound machines, 2 fluoroscopy machines, and X-ray rooms. Additionally, a third Cath lab in the imaging department is available for vascular procedures.
